Corsair Headset Not Turning On

If you’re facing issues with your Corsair headset, such as no sound or a malfunctioning microphone, you’re not alone. These problems often stem from improper settings, outdated audio drivers, or firmware. But fret not, as this article will provide you with simple and quick solutions to get your headset up and running again.

Let’s get started!

You don’t need to try all the fixes listed below. Simply work your way down until you find the one that solves your problem.

Fix 1 – Troubleshoot the Hardware Issue

Before diving into complicated solutions, let’s start with some basic troubleshooting steps:

  • Test your Corsair headset on another computer to ensure it’s not physically damaged.
  • Check the connection by replugging the headset into your PC or trying a different USB port. For wireless headsets, use a paper clip to press the tiny hole near the dongle’s LED. Hold the Power button on your headset until the dongle’s LED turns solid.

If you’ve confirmed that the issue isn’t related to hardware, let’s move on to the next fix.

Fix 2 – Update Your Audio Driver

The audio driver plays a crucial role in the proper functioning of your headset or microphone. Outdated, missing, or faulty drivers can cause your Corsair headset to stop working. To ensure your headset works flawlessly, install the latest device drivers.

You can manually search for the most recent driver on your PC manufacturer’s official website or the Corsair download page. However, if you don’t have the time or technical expertise, you can use a tool like Driver Easy to update your drivers automatically.

Driver Easy will recognize your system and find the correct drivers for your headset. You won’t need to worry about downloading and installing the wrong driver or making any mistakes during the installation process.

To update your drivers effortlessly, follow these steps:

  1. Download and install Driver Easy.
  2. Run Driver Easy and click the Scan Now button. The tool will scan your computer and detect any problematic drivers.

Fix 3 – Check the Sound Settings

In most cases, your Corsair headset should be set as the default audio device once it’s properly connected. However, if you’ve been switching between different headsets and speakers, the settings might have become disorganized. In such cases, you’ll need to manually configure the correct setup.

Follow these steps to adjust your sound settings:

  1. Type “control” in the Windows search box and select Control Panel.
    Opening Control Panel
  2. Choose “Small icons” next to View by and click Sound.
    Accessing Sound settings
  3. On the Playback tab, ensure that your Corsair headset is enabled (indicated by a green check mark). Click on it and click Set Default.

To update the firmware, follow these steps:

  1. Connect your Corsair headset to your computer.
  2. Launch iCUE. If you don’t have it installed, you can download it.
  3. Go to the Settings tab.
    Accessing iCUE settings
